Campus Facilities

MNR Higher Education Research Academy (MNR-HERA) lush green campus at Sangareddy, Telangana State is spread over 110 acres of land, the entire campus is constructed with an aesthetic touch, paved landscapes, marked by huge trees and greenery all around, offering a serene environment to this austere abode of education.

Facilities provided at MNR-HERA campus are unmatched, we provide our students with all the necessary services to make their stay as hassle-free as possible. The facilities provided to each student include a canteen, supermarket, and stationary shop with a Reprography facility, an auditorium, hostel facility separate for boys and girls, and for NRI students, 3-tier security surveillance, healthcare, NCC/NSS, library, gymnasium, recreation, and sports arena. These facilities provide the students an unique learning experience, thus facilitating advances in education.

Dental College Facilities

State-of-art facilities are provided in all labs for Dental Materials, Dental Anatomy, Oral Pathology and Microbiology, Orthodontics, Pedodontics, Oral Medicine & Radiology, Public health dentistry, Prosthodontics, Periodontology, Conservative Dentistry, and Oral Surgery. These ensure students are provided adequate support during their undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The campus is also equipped with a smart classroom, lift, and cafeteria. Separate common rooms are provided for boys and girls.

ATM

HDFC Bank is one of the leading private sector banks in India. It has installed its fully functional ATM on the campus.

Auditorium

The campus has a fully air-conditioned auditorium, Symposiums, conventions, conferences, and various events are held here by different specialties. And all the Institutions annual day celebrations and convocation ceremonies are arranged every year in this auditorium.

Student Affairs

The management and the faculty encourage the students to participate and present papers, posters at the various international, national, and state-level conferences to enhance their skills and update their respective subjects' skills. The students are encouraged to take up research work during their academic years to add weightage to build their professional careers in the future. The students at our institute are taught, "Leadership is not about being in charge. Leadership is taking care of those in your charge of you". Students have the best connect with their classmates than teachers or professors. The student council is formed with the consent of the staff. Students with creative skills, leadership qualities, management skills, and discipline were part of it and elected by peer students.

The student council creates many opportunities for leadership and mentoring. Participation in the meetings also allows students to influence the social and extracurricular activities on the campus. The student council members are elected by the students residing on the campus. Our elected members serve as the formal representatives and as liaisons between the student body and administration. The student council conducts regular meetings to discuss the proposed agenda. The student council selects representatives to serve as student members in different committees. The total number of students in various committees is 90, out of which undergraduates are 42. The student council also have postgraduates, numbering 48. Student members representing the respective committees attend all the meetings and extend their support for various committees' activities during the year. The student members ensure that any complaint regarding the facilities or any student-related issues is discussed and addressed during the meetings with the respective committee staff members and administration. They encourage peer students to take part in various inter and intra-college events.

Students' language or communication issues are brought to the council's notice, facilitating a bridge course to overcome the difficulties. They also organize yoga and meditation courses in coordination with the concerned committee. The sports committee and cultural committee actively participate and conduct annual sports meet and cultural day every year in November. Students are also part of the sexual harassment elimination committee and women empowerment committee, focusing on female students.

Library

The campus has a well-equipped Central Library also known as MNR Knowledge Center spread over 3685 square meters area, with Separate AC rooms, exclusively for PGs and teaching staff. The main aim of the central library is to provide and disseminate all health sciences information to students, faculty, and research scholars of the constituent Health Science Colleges of MNR Educational Trust. The state-of-the-art central library is the domain for information seekers, be it students, faculty, or researchers.

The library caters to the information needs of approximately 1150 users of MNR Campus, providing access to various international and national journals of different specialties. It has a separate Virtual classroom with 120 seating capacity for conducting academic activities like CME & CD programs and several guest lectures and video conferences are conducted here. Along with all these facilities, a separate IT zone is provided for accessing e-resources with 40 nodes and a high-speed Wi-Fi facility.

This functions as the main library at the campus where closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV's) are installed as security measures. Apart from the central library, each department has a separate library focusing on subject-related books and e-library collections.

The Library has over 38,575 volumes (Medical, Dental, Physiotherapy, Homoeopathy, and other related General books) classified textbooks, reference books with group study area for graduate and post-graduate students, and a separate study area for faculty.

MNR subscribes to 325 National & International journals and also 1225 e-journals and 487 e-books and other medical-related e-resources. The library also has a huge collection of educational CDs, audio, and videos providing vast information on every aspect of human illness and treatment procedures.

Sports & Recreation

The institute aims at striking a balance between studies and sports. It encourages students to participate in sports actively. A sports committee with both staff and students very enthusiastically organizes various inter and intra college events. Every year, the committee organizes a sports meet for 3days, encouraging students to participate in different sports. The meet ends on the Annual Day with prize distribution. The campus has a well-equipped gymnasium with multi-station gymnasium equipment.

Canteen

The canteen is situated within the college campus. It is open for all and has a separate seating arrangement for staff, students, and guests. They serve delicious food of different varieties and types (North Indian and South Indian).Snacks, soft drinks, and meals are available at subsidized rates.

The canteen is open from 6 A.M. to 8 P.M. every day.

Hostel

MNR-AHER campus provides separate well-furnished accommodation for girls and boys. Students are encouraged to avail these facilities as it saves time, which can be utilized more appropriately. The campus offers student-friendly atmosphere encouraging bonhomie and social bonding. Rules, as laid down by the authorities regarding discipline and hostel schedule, has to be strictly followed. Anti-social activities are strictly prohibited, and those indulging in it are severely dealt with. All hostellers have to adhere to these regulations to stay in the hostel. New features like a new gymnasium, Wi-Fi connectivity, and an NRI hostel with AC rooms are being added to the hostel complex this year.

Transportation

The college is located 3 kms from Sangareddy town and 40 kms from Hyderabad city. Students are expected to stay in college hostels. Those who want to commute from Hyderabad can travel by college buses/RTC buses. Students are strongly advised not to use two-wheelers on the highway for such long distances. Parents are particularly requested not to yield to their children’s requests for two-wheelers.

The college runs several buses from different parts of the city. Those students who wish to avail the facility can do so by paying the bus fees, accepting transportation rules, and filling indemnity bonds. The college authorities are not responsible for any untoward incidents.

National Service Scheme (NSS)

MNR Dental College & Hospital is associated with NSS since 2009. Various activities are organized and conducted under the companionship. NSS is a Central Sector Schemes of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India. It was incepted in the year 1969 to provide oppotunities to the young students from High school to Postgraduation levels to take part in various government led community service activities and programs. The students will receive hands on experience and exposure while delivering community services. The student volunteers who opt to serve the nation through the NSS led Community service will be provided with a badge. They feel a sense of resposibility and pride putting on the NSS badge while serving the needy. The motto of NSS is “Not Me But You”. And its objective is”Serve the downtrodden in the society” and “Personality Development through Community Service”.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

At MNR many students volunteered for NCC. MNR Dental College & Hospital is associated with NCC. Various activities are organized and conducted under the companionship. NCC is the youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces. Its headquarters is located in New Delhi, India. Its opened to school and college students not on cumpulsion but on voluntary basis. Its a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air-Wing. Its aim is to groom the youth of India into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The motto of NCC is “Unity and Discipline”. Greater importance is given to social service and youth management rather than military training.The objective of NCC is to develop character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens of India.

Security

Once students are in the premises, every care is taken to see the student's safety and security at all times. Professional Security Agency is entrusted with the responsibility to provide round the clock security in the campus.

Senior Wardens constantly monitor the needs of the students and play the role of local guardians. As the Hostel premises are very close to the academic block students have the advantages of access to Library till 9:00pm.

International Student Cell

MNR Educational Trust has an active International student cell that caters to the needs of foreign students. MNR being one of the pioneers in the education sector competing with world-class education has always been welcoming toward students aspiring for the same. MNR has customized the admission procedure, fee structure, and all allied services for foreign students.

MNR encourages and shapes the foreign students who join us in their professional academic voyage. It has charted a path of molding them into competent future experts and successful professionals, and to achieve their chosen degrees with high accolades.

Student Centric Methods

  • At MNR, students are the focus. The entire academic planning process is designed to be student centric. Efforts are made to make learning more student-centric and making it more participatory and interactive.
  • Facilitates all possible efforts for the development of students through career counseling cell, placement cell, research, and many other different clubs formed by respective departments.
  • Promotes the student-centric by ensuring classroom environment to be learner-friendly.
  • Encourages and guides students to undertake projects to enhance practical utility and gain experience of various courses.
  • Emphasis is given on systematic academic preparation and the completion of the syllabus.
  • Separate classes are arranged for soft skills development. The entire campus is provided with a Wi-Fi facility to reach out to e-resources.
  • LCD projection systems, screens, and green boards are provided. Lecture notes are distributed and discussed after the completion of each unit.
  • The classroom environment is channeled in such a way that students feel free to share their ideas and to have a healthy discussion.
  • Students are informed in advance about the topic to be taught so that the students can come prepared for active discussion with teachers.
  • Students are allotted the first 10 minutes to revise the contents covered in the last session by asking some questions, checking their understanding, and making them alert.
  • Student’s doubts are clarified by re-explaining the topic in such a way that the student can grasp the topic more easily.
  • To develop student’s critical thinking lecturers ask questions related to the topic during the lecture.
  • Faculty’s performances are closely monitored through student feedback and they are encouraged to develop new experiments beyond the syllabus.
  • Frequent guest lectures by renowned experts from industry and education are organized.
  • Central library facilities are provided to help the students in the self-learning process.
  • In addition to the College library, the departmental libraries of select books have been established for quick and convenient reference materials.
  • Many programs are conducted by various departments to hone their skills like debates, group discussions, seminars, field visits, lab facilities, induction programs, short-term projects, etc.

Gender Equality

Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right but also a foundation for a peaceful, sustainable, and prosperous world. Because of the encouragement and of various schemes there has been tremendous progress over the last decades, more girls are going to school, early marriage drop down, more women are serving in parliament and positions of leadership, and laws are being reformed to advance gender equality. However, despite all the efforts taken still, there are many hurdles and challenges to be faced. Discriminatory laws and social norms remain pervasive, women continue to be under-represented at all levels.

  • Globally, 750 million women and girls were married before the age of 18 and at least 200 million women and girls in 30 countries have undergone FGM.
  • In 30 countries girls between 15-16 who are subjected to FGM (female genital mutilation) have dropped from 1 in 2 girls in 2000 to 1 in 3 girls by 2017.
  • In 18 countries, husbands can legally prevent their wives from working; in 39 countries, daughters and sons do not have equal inheritance rights; and 49 countries lack laws protecting women from domestic violence.
  • Globally, one in five women and girls including 19% of women and girls aged 15 to 49, have experienced physical and/or sexual violence by an intimate partner within the last 12 months. Yet, 49 countries have no laws that specifically protect women from such violence.
  • Globally, even though women have made important inroads into political office across the world, their representation in national parliaments at 23.7% is still far from parity.
  • In approximately 46 countries, women now hold more than 30% of seats in the national parliament in at least one chamber.
  • Globally, only 52% of women married or in a union freely make their own decisions about sexual relations, contraceptive use, and health care.
  • Globally women are just 13% of agricultural landholders.
  • Women in North Africa hold less than one in five paid jobs in the non-agricultural sector. However, the proportion of women in paid employment outside the agriculture sector has increased from 35% in 1990 to 41% in 2015.
  • More than 100 countries have allocated budgets for gender equality.
  • In South Asia, child marriage has dropped by over 40% since 2000.
